PLACE, PLACE VALUE & FACE VALUE OF DIGIT IN A NUMERAL :-

• The PLACE of a digit is decided by its position.
• The FACE VALUE of a digit is the digit itself.
• The PLACE VALUE of a digit is the product of the place and its face value.

For eg.   In the numeral 750431 , we have   (Indian System)

Given Numeral	Face Value	*	Place	=	Place Value
1	1	*	1	=	1
3	3	*	10	=	30
4	4	*	100	=	400
0	0	*	1000	=	0
5	5	*	10,000	=	50,000
7	7	*	100000	=	700000

NOTE:- Place value is also called local value of digit.
